Introduction

This tutorial introduces the vector data model with QGIS. It walks you through a simple task of creating and populating a vector table stored as a shapefile, and aims to get you thinking about relationships between detail, accuracy, map scale, and mapping purpose.

Create a new shapefile

Digitize a feature

Add a new field

Display by attribute
